Born in Toledo, Ohio, she and her family relocated to Huntsville, Alabama where Mrs. Gaiter attended Anna Knight Elementary School, Oakwood Academy, and Oakwood University. Mrs. Gaiter worked as a certified paralegal and social worker for state and federal government agencies before joining the ministry of education in 1999.
Cynthia Perkins has been the Parent Engagement Specialist with Selma City Schools for twenty-five (25) years, where she provides parents with information and skills, they need to support healthy attitudes, behaviors, and environments. She creates a variety of opportunities for parents to be engaged in education.
Dr. Lisa M. James, a native of Brooklyn, New York, discovered her passion for mathematics while taking general education mathematics courses as a freshman accounting major at Oakwood College (now Oakwood University) a small Seventh-day Adventist HBCU in Huntsville, Alabama.
